It is marvelous how God is discretely invisible and silent, yet animates and
maintains in existence every living being and seemingly inert object in the
universe. When leaders in society humble themselves to do God’s will -- to
love God, love others as we love ourselves, love others as Jesus has loved
us, love even our enemies, love all of God’s creation and live the Beatitudes
given to us by Jesus - there would be a dawning of peace and serenity in
the world.
When leaders come to faith in God and practice a spirituality of letting go of
over-attachment to the secondary created goods of this world –
possessions, prestige, power, and pleasure – there would be much greater
peace and serenity in the world.
When all people put God first, seeking only the knowledge of God’s will for
them and the power to carry it out, and when our will comes in line with the
will of God for us, then serenity, contentment, and harmony will descend
upon the human race and the whole world. In the end, the source of peace
is simplicity itself.
