1 Thessalonians 2:3-7 (For our appeal does not spring from deceit or
            a
impure motives or trickery, but just as we have been approved by God to be
entrusted with the message of the gospel, even so we speak, not to please
mortals, but to please God who tests our hearts...)

b Colossians 2:18-19 (Do not let anyone disqualify you, insisting on self-
abasement and worship of angels, dwelling on visions, puffed up without
cause by a human way of thinking, and not holding fast to the head, from
whom the whole body, nourished and held together by its ligaments and
sinews, grows with a growth that is from God.)

c Leviticus 19:18 (You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against
any of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the
            Lord.)

d Matthew 23:1-4 (Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The
scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat; therefore do whatever they
teach you and follow it; but do not do as they do, for they do not practice
what they teach. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on
the shoulders of others; but they themselves are unwilling to lift a finger to
            move them.)

e Matthew 23:5-7 (They do all their deeds to be seen by others; for they
make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long. They love to have the
place of honor at banquets and the best seats in the synagogues, and to be
greeted with respect in the market places, and to have people call them
            rabbi.)

f Matthew 23:23-27 (“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For
you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of
the law; justice and mercy and faith...)

g Luke 6:45 (The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces
good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil; for it is out of
the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.)
