We are challenged here to understand what is beyond our human
comprehension, to penetrate the mystery of our divine origin. At the same
time, we are blessed in having many sacred writings to enlighten and guide
us on that journey. However, many people remain obtuse and do not follow
that path.
Those who do follow that path believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Word
made flesh, the Logos or Word that was with God from the beginning, and
as Son of God, was sent by the Father into the world through the
Incarnation. To know him and to believe in Him is to know and believe in the
Father, for the relationship we have with him is the relationship we have with
the Father.
This is a great mystery many people struggle to grasp – how the One
through whom all things were made could enter into his own creation as a
tiny, powerless infant, live among us so humbly as the son of a laborer or
teckton, and seek only to serve and not to be served. Blessed are those
who come to believe that he who appeared so ordinary is greater than both
the Torah and Temple, the Incarnate Son of the Living God.
