2 Corinthians 10:2-6 (I ask that when I am present I need not show
a
boldness by daring to oppose those who think we are acting according to
human standards. Indeed, we live as human beings, but we do not wage
war according to human standards; for the weapons of our warfare are not
merely human, but they have divine power to destroy strongholds. We
destroy arguments and every proud obstacle raised up against the
knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ. We
are ready to punish every disobedience when your obedience is complete.)
Matthew 26:52-54, Ecclesiastes 9:16-18, Proverbs 13:14
b Psalm 37:7-9 (Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; do not
fret over those who prosper in their way, over those who carry out evil
devices. Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath. Do not fret - it leads only to
evil. For the wicked shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall
inherit the land.)
c Proverbs 24:17-18 (Do not rejoice when your enemies fall, and do not let
your heart be glad when they stumble, or else the Lord will see it and be
displeased, and turn away his anger from them.)
d Proverbs 21:30-31 (No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel, can avail
against the Lord. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the
victory belongs to the Lord.)
Proverbs 13:1-21
e Romans 12:19 (Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the
wrath of God; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay; says the
Lord.”)
Matthew 5:22
