Traveling alone through the slowly receding snow for three
days and three thousand kilometers through the rugged, barren,
windswept, beautiful states of Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and
Nevada to California was exciting and captivating, much like
journeying through the Tao Te Ching for the first time and about
            which I knew very little.

Returning home by the same route proved to be just as
interesting as the trip down, as everything was now seen from a
different perspective. That trip was like journeying through the very
familiar Christian scriptures, only this time through the prism of the
Tao Te Ching, revealing exciting and inspiring connections along
            the way.

After returning home, I purchased a larger scooter, and
faced the challenge of how to transport it on my next trip to the
United States. The folks at the local dealership I consulted informed
me it was both remarkable and improbable I made it to my
destination with that Versahaul, as I was scraping the highway with
every major bump. Therein lay the title for this preface—both
journeys were remarkable and improbable—the physical traveling
to California and my eventual safe arrival, and meeting up with
Keith and the literary, spiritual revision of The Path To Greatness
that has evolved into Built For God.

Who knows—maybe the culmination of both ventures may
result in another remarkable, improbable journey—meeting with
Pope Francis to share this whole story with him.
